Identity Verification (KYC) Policy
This page explains Wayaki's customer-facing identity-verification approach. Detailed internal procedures and risk rules are confidential security controls.
Why we verify identity
Identity verification helps protect customers, prevent impersonation and fraud, meet partner requirements, and support applicable anti-money-laundering and sanctions obligations.
Information we may request
- Legal name, date of birth, residential address, nationality, email, and phone number.
- A valid government-issued identity document.
- A selfie, liveness check, or other evidence that the applicant matches the document.
- Additional information about occupation, source of funds, or intended account use where risk or law requires it.
Verification levels
Some features may be available with basic account information. Higher limits or higher-risk services may require enhanced verification. Wayaki may request updated documents or repeat checks when information expires or account activity changes.
Decisions and review
Wayaki may approve, restrict, pause, or decline access when verification cannot be completed, information appears inconsistent, or legal and partner requirements prevent service. Customers can request a review through support.
Data handling
KYC information is access-controlled and used only for identity, security, compliance, support, and lawful reporting purposes. Retention and deletion are described in our Privacy Policy and Data & Account Deletion page.
